At the beginning of the year, I published a lot about Trump and the predicted decline of the US, billionaires, etc. And then it literally got on my nerves. I had a kind of indigestion, nausea, saturation from these nauseating ideas, this constant circus and the crass stupidity that accompanies it, so I took a break to avoid ending up going round and round in circles on the subject 24/7.
Winter is com... already here!
Today, I am back because a lot has happened since then, and what was only announced or in the making is now quietly coming to fruition. After nine months, we have a US democracy that has been decimated by the dismantling of all competent and expert organizations in all areas, including health, environmental protection, disaster and epidemic prevention, and aid to the most disadvantaged, both abroad and within the country itself. It is also weakened by the expansion of executive power, the “rubber-stamping” or even servile behavior of Republican representatives in both houses, the disregard for court decisions and therefore their non-enforcement, and the replacement of thousands of federal employees with people who are often inexperienced but loyal to the president. The press is muzzled or discredited, replaced by social media and biased, completely partisan news channels that reinforce the total reversal of facts. What is true becomes false, and what matters now is no longer the evidence but the importance we attach to it, relative to how well it fits with the ideas we defend, of course.
A masked militia, made up of people whose identities and recruitment procedures are unknown, has invaded the streets of all major cities (preferably Democratic ones), arresting whomever it wants (preferably people with dark skin), however it wants (preferably violently, to instill fear), wherever it wants. A force of 30,000 men who have pledged allegiance not to their country, nor to the flag, nor to the constitution, but to one man: Trump. In Washington, and soon in New York and Chicago if the announcements are to be believed, the National Guard has been called in, along with the Marines, supposedly to make the city safer and fight crime. Yet crime in Washington is among the lowest in the country. At the same time, Donald is calling for the redrawing of constituencies in Texas to give him a few extra seats in the midterm elections. And the same thing is happening in other Republican states. It is clear that these shenanigans, combined with the deployment of armed forces exclusively in cities with a Democratic majority, are essentially aimed at containing and suppressing protests “just in case” the election results in these cities are disputed or outright biased in favor of OrangeMan.
I don't think I need to go into any more detail, as all of this had been announced and is now as clear as day. The icing on the cake was the assassination of Charlie Kirk, which no one should rejoice in, least of all Trump's opponents. Morally speaking, I don't see why anyone should rejoice when a man, however despicable he may be, however foul his ideas and methods, is killed in this way. Politically, it is not something to rejoice about either, since the shooter has just handed the MAGA crowd and other Christian Bros the martyr they were waiting for on a silver platter. Their goal, I remind you, is to bring religion back to the heart of society and politics. As in... Iran or... Afghanistan, except that, in this case, they are “Christians.” Their first battle, which they have lost for now, was to demand that the Ten Commandments be displayed in all classrooms. Which version? The short one? The long one? The one where God asks us not to have impure thoughts about our neighbor's wife? The one where he forbids us to represent and bow down to any other deity?

Don't think it's just the delusion of a bunch of fanatics. It may have been at the beginning but it has become one of the goals of this administration. Why? But because they stand by the beard! Christian bros provide means, networks, voters, part of the ideological corpus and political agenda. Oh, they're not fools! They know very well that Trump is only a believer of pacolette, a Christian of special circumstances. But they think, right now, that it is man who will allow their ideas to prevail in US society. As for him, he pretends to have faith and applies their program as soon as he can. He doesn't really like them, he thinks he's using them. They see a little further: Trump is not eternal and if he dies along the way, JD Vance will replace him. And he is one of them: Church, Family, Homeland. He is also a creature of Peter Thiel. The vice president is at the crossroads of the two driving forces of the extreme right in the USA: Christian bros and the lords of tech or "broligarques". Two forces that oppose on certain points but agree on the essential: it is time for them to pass democracy out of profit to establish a state of authoritarian or dictatorial, religious, techno-feudal type, whose citizens will be under control 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
