The electrocardiogram (ECG) is one of the easiest and fastest tests to evaluate the heart. Electrodes (small plastic plates that stick to the skin) are placed in some areas of the chest, arms and legs. The electrodes are connected to an ECG device by conductor wires. The electrical activity of the core is then measured, interpreted and printed. No electricity is sent into the body.
