Straight into the wall, while singing?

In this part of the site, I will try to talk about our era, about how senseless it is, about what we do or don't do even though we know what we should be doing, about the wall towards which we are hurtling faster and faster, making ourselves dizzy, anesthetizing what remains of our common sense, undoubtedly hoping that the final impact, as fatal as it may be, doesn't turn out to be too painful. We're willing to disappear, but above all we don't want to suffer too many bumps and bruises, eh... And in the meantime? We're making a fool of ourselves!

I won't give you any grand geopolitical speeches, I won't describe the ideal trajectory for the next 1000 years, I won't lecture you, I wouldn't be legitimate or up to the task. But I will try to explain, in small doses and through my daily life, how a 63-year-old “old fart” who has lived through other eras feels, sees and understands (or does not understand) how things evolve.

I named this blog “Blaugue” (a play on words in French between blague meaning “joke” and glauque meaning “murky”) to illustrate, in my opinion at least, my mixed feelings about the present, which is tossing us from one extreme to the other: from joke to murky. And since it's a blog...
